U should have a good water supply for the mud minnows at chickenbuck this year then dave. maybe be able to run the canoe up the moat.
It is a silly fish that is caught twice with the same bait!

Mud minnows are a GREAT walleye bait on the Chippewa Flowage and they're tough as hell.

We have lots in the moat for some reason Tom, some are pretty big too. Joey has a minnow trap.

Nice Iggle pics Pam! It always looks to me like bald iggles are angry...
A year ago yesterday the ice went out on my lake. what a difference a year makes. Nice to have a good old fashioned winter!

Pam, you must go sneaking around in ghillie suits to get these shots. You seem to get close to a lot of wildlife - and then make some great shots.

Dave, you must be part Indian then.
How's the fishing up there? Haven't heard many reports lately.
Just killin' trees down here. Hickories mostly. I need to make a smoker.

Fishing? It's been terrible. We've turned the page, thinking about spring.
Smoker huh? That sounds like fun.

Never had a smoker. Always on my "to do" list.
But at least now, I have enough hickory cut and split to last through 2016 so I think I could spare a little for a smoker.

I like the outdoor smoke houses. My buddy built one, it's like a little shed with a bunch of racks and dowel rods to hang or rest your stuff in/on. fish, sausage, jerky, whatever. He's got a metal box for the fire that's like a lowboy wheelbarrow. light the fire in the box outside of the smoker shack, get a good bed of coals going, open the door and roll it in. Then there's a little access door for feeding in chunks of wood as needed and a thermometer that's read from outside the shack.
It's pretty sweet and he threw it together out of scraps he had laying around home.

Smokers are great. Some of the best ribs and chicken I've ever had were done in a smoker.
Made an even up trade today. My Tikka for a Ruger Mark II in a 257 Bob.

I thought so too, Dave. The rifle will go to my grandson in a few years and will make a great speedgoat and mule deer rifle for him when they move to MT.
