My new to me 7-08 Mountaun. So far I like her. All I need now is a good stock for her.

Looks like a tang sight on that 1906?

Another 1906 leaning on wood that could have been fence posts.

Indeed it is.
It looks like mine has gone a few rounds more than your's has. I know from experience that you have a wonderful piece, in great condition too.

There are some beautiful firearms in here, however I personally have a soft spot for guns and knives that have had to work for a living. Your rifle looks as if it could tell some stories, around a campfire, that most other guns can only dream about. And that old folder stuck in the ground seems to match the rifle. Great old gun and knife. Thanks for sharing.

Stuvwxyz, thank you very much for the compliments on the rifle.
This rifle has many stories to share and thankfully I can tell a few of them for it. It's a sweet piece and it has a special place in my collection.

All these beautiful places, gents a lot of you are very fortunate to live where you do. I'm stuck here in the rectal orifice of the Continental US, hot, humid, flat, Florida frown

So Ingwe,

what is it and what's it chambered in?

I know you are a tall guy, but is the scope so far back due to you having a long length of pull?

definitely an eye catching stock...
