After a two year wait I finally got my SR1911, I decided that this was the gun that I wanted as my first 1911 and it was worth the wait. I paid too much for it but not as much as some are paying but the availability and money were finally both in my grasp at the same time so I bit the bullet and did it. My wife got me the VCD grips for our anniversary and they are amazing. I didn't get to shoot it yet because my daughter was sick but I will get a range report up soon.

I like the bumper pad. (The magazine on Ruger's website is a flush-fit.) That angled pad looks a lot like the one on Tripp's Cobra Mag.

Ruger uses Checkmate magazines.

The SR 1911 comes with two factory mags. The 7 round flusher, and the 8 round bumpered..... But any 1911 mag'll work. I even run some 10 rounders thru mine.

Very nice pistol. Get you some good magazines like McCormick or Wilson and you will be good to go. Let us know how it shoots.

Ruger's factory mags made my Checkmate
