Will this become necessary someday/somewhere north of said country? http://news.yahoo.com/mexican-vigilantes-seize-town-arrest-police-033530439.htmlfrom the article: "We have besieged the municipality, because here criminals operate with impunity in broad daylight, in view of municipal authorities. We have detained the director of public security because he is involved with criminals and he knows who killed our commander," said Bruno Placido Valerio, a spokesman for the vigilante group. Placido said vigilantes had searched a number of homes in the town and seized drugs from some. They turned over the ex-security director and police officers to state prosecutors, who agreed to investigate their alleged ties to organized crime. (My highlighting) mmmmm? Armed citizens taking back their streets/towns. Good on them. I'm not saying their isn't problems with their approach. Desparate people take desparate measures though.

The problem with that in Mexico is that the bad guys have the serious guns. It could get pretty bloody but there's no other way to do it with the corrupt police & military.

Check the story of Don Alejo Garza Tamez. A 77 year old rancher in San Jose,Victoria, Tamaulipas that was ordered to vacate his ranch by a local cartel. It was in Dillons Blue Press but still i don't know if it is a urban legend or if he really took a few narco trafficante puto's with him....

How do you say, "Then come and get it, MF'rs," in Spanish?
The left would say, "Yeah, but he's a dead hero." Well, some things are worth dying for.

it's often been said that around these parts, that if organized law & order fails to do the job because they can't, then the vigilantees and the local gangs will step in to restore order.
in other words, the vigilantees and local gangs are the only organized power authority left when the thin blue line finally becomes disorganized and chaotic.
so, let's don't write off the vigilantees and gangs quite yet.
