I have two benchrest McMillans. Both had an obvious parting line. On the hunter rifle side, I have three Hunter Edge's that are fine, and one in a McSwirly pattern that had a parting line if I remember right. A lot of the McSwirly's you fellow's have shown are darn appealing. Do they have an obvious die parting line?

There's a parting line, but "obvious" is a judgement call.

Most people don't seem to mind it.

Theres a parting line or a "mold line" but it just kinda looks like a starting point where the swirl meets. It's not like there is a bump there or anything, its smooth. I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Heck, you can see fiberglass cloth and all kinds of imperfections in them. If a guy is super particular, go with a paint finish. If you can roll a bit with the final finish, then the swirleys are fun and I like mine despite their imperfections.
