A while back I started a thread on a blog series that Rockchucker30 and I were working on. Here is the link to third part of the series:

http://seekoutside.com/diy-elk-more-than-memories-mountain-fitness/

The first two pieces are linked in the blog, and feel free to contact either of us with questions or feedback.

Thanks for reading!

Excellent article, thank you for sharing. It is a shame more folks do not mention flexibility. Very important!

Yup, it is important. I am going to have to keep working at it, realized in writing about it that I need to spend a bit more time on it.

Flexibility is my least favorite, mainly because it isn't "fun" or "hard". However, without it, you can be ground to a halt quickly. I try to work it into exercises, by doing things like using 5 fingers while squatting or I have some squats that are just flex focused. It makes a HUGE difference though in all aspects. Even a long car ride is less of a problem when you are limber.

Good articles. Plyometrics, tabata and stretching a great way to get in shape when included in reg workouts.

Started doing pistols again with help of a chair. Not so easy after three hip replacements. But want to be in the back country for elk and deer this year.
