UN passed it, Obama will likely sign it, but the Senate is currently something like 53 to 46 against it. So.. short term nothing will happen with it.

Long term, find out which of those 46 are in your area and kick their butts out.

What is most interesting is that the average person on the street in America has NO clue that America is in fact the worlds premier arms dealer, having something like 70-80% of the global market depending on how the numbers are ran. But they will self righteously have a fit if the Chinamen sell a weapon, or God forbid that Russia make a sale. It is pure comedy in a sick sort of way. The funny, nay ironic thing, is that if the FedGov cracks down here at home, foreign intelligence services, Mexico's first and foremost followed by China and Russia, will ship those same weapons back here, in support of insurgents and other dissident groups in pretty much the same way we did it to the Soviets in Afghanistan. They understand very well that an America with any sort of domestic disturbance cannot maintain its imperial interests with full vigor. And since the empire as been just a bit to vigorous in their backyard as of late, well they would seize any chance given with both hands running. My sense is that if the gun grabbers try to take the day, their day will be very short indeed as it will fracture this unnatural creation beyond mending.

70-80% Wow.. wikipedia shows something a bit different. According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Russia exported $8 billion worth of arms in 2012, USA exports $8.7 billion. Not sure what style of math turns that into 80% of worldwide sales.
