Has anyone loaded the Nosler 80gr CC in .223 Rem for ARs? Like everyone else I'm having a hard time getting components and have a line on these. I'm concerned it will seat the ogive below the case mouth and might have feeding issues.
Thanks, Keith

Loaded the 75 amax at mag length for years. Ogive was below. Zero feeding issues. Very accurate amazingly.
John Burns has done the same also.
I never did any 80s like that though.

BTW make sure you adjust the load for the decreased case capacity vs pressure

It's not designed to be a mag-length bullet. But you can try.

I still think it's a dumb idea, even after talking to guys at the club who did it.
If it was such a great idea, we'd all be doing it.

dumb or not, I have a couple of 9X 300 yard rapid cleans with a service rifle with it....
And its never failed to work.
John Burns opinion is the same.
And if its all you got to work with, first you got caught with your pants down, second something is better than nothing.
Sometimes folks get too hung up on cosmetic looks...with no proof of it being bad, and then toss out words like dumb....

Thanks for the help. I might have gotten caught with my pants down but I spend a lot of time overseas and don't always have good enough connectivity to keep up a large supply. I don't shoot a lot of AR anyhow. I mostly shoot LR bolt guns.

I know how it is to get caught... and thats not a negative statement.
Since the last run on primers and brass many years ago, it wasn't the latest one but prior to that. Probably circa 2000 possibly by now... I made it a point to try to keep on hand a years worth of extra components.
The only way I get caught to an extent now is if I start something I had not done previous... IE 38 special this time. And 284 Win. I have enough 284 bullets from my 7x300 from when I wanted to see if light would shoot, even though I run 160-180 typically. And I had bought the dies, but powder might be an issue...
Of course I had plans to save up and buy about 20,000 bulk 55 soft points just to have too... and that never happened either....

Would 52gr boat tail a-max or 60gr v-max interest you?
PM me if you like...

Lycan,
The 77gr CC is what I'd prefer but I can't find them either.
