Yep..... I don't know how things are in the urban environment (I'll leave Mac, Pat, etc. to discuss that) but that sure isn't how it works at the "local" level around here. I'm sure an ex-DEA supervisor can speak intelligently about local NH LE, though . George pretty much, most rural cops aint the same as city cops.....known a couple of the local cops for a long time and know which side of the line they are going to be on cause they aint taking guns from their family and wont take them from me....

I wonder if there is any exit polling on what percentage of the rank and file LEO vote that Obama got? What State? Urban or Rural? Union or not? There are as many variables for LE voters as there are for non-LE voters. I would guess (probably not even wager) that he did well among NYPD. To continue the urban theme, I would guess (again, no checking on my part) that he didn't do so well with San Antonio PD. George My point is, if Obama and the dems can't get the military vote and can't say, get an overwhelming majority of LEO vote. Why on earth would anybody think they would blindly trample on the constitution for him?

Mac, It's interesting to see the change in Feds, particularly those in other than the Friendly But Ignorant, change their perspective when they move out to a rural office and actually rub elbows with the locals. There is the "Tough Fed" portrayal when they first get there, then, after about six months, when another FNG gets assigned there, they will be the first one to tell said FNG to STFU and learn how to act. It doesn't take long for them to realize how F/U their original position was. There are always exceptions, but then they make a point to isolate themselves from everyone else, including their peers. Everybody knows who they are. Ed

It probably ain't your "cop buddies" you'll have to worry about. They'll send cops that don't know you from Adam and those cops will not hesitate to kill you. And that is a cold, hard fact.

at the time of the raid, the facts may not be told to the folks doing the work. They might just be told that they are going to arrest a criminal, who is armed and dangerous. Standard proceedure will insure compliance. I don't want to get into what ifs, but dang if I trust .gov one single bit.

Your example doesn't hold water as it relates to LE as I know it. You are, of course, basing your opinion on your urban/suburban point of view. FWIW, I don't trust .gov either.

Doesn't (and won't) work that way where I'm from, or where I am now, either.

You guys know that a lot of cops are gun owners and if they are trying to take yours they will be taking ours also.
But if it keeps you up at night worrying about it carry on.

I've been on many raids in an urban area and it never happens as was written in the mess from the op. As much info as possible is given to all involved including what they are looking for and especially if guns may be present. All are free to ask questions if they want more info. The story isn't even close to real and I quit reading when I got to the part where those involved in the raid wouldnt know why they weregoing or what they were looking for. Pure bs

What am I gonna do with that gun buried in the PVC? Other than hold on to it until the "right" time comes to dig it up.
Being a skinny old man, I figure I am good for about one round off, so I will just use a ML.
