Thanks elkhunternm,
I don't live in an area where I get to kill much in a year. Our seasons are short and there are alot of hunters. But work keeps me to busy anyhow most seasons. I do live near some bear hunting and this was my second season to try my luck at it. Course here it is mostly luck even seeing one. Hope to get out to do some hunting in the west some year.

I need to load a bunch of older pics. I was late getting in the camera game....one of my biggest regrets. Still lack a few skills too, but I'm getting better.

501 yards 140 a-max 6.5. This one name was drop time. scored 162 2 years ago he was in the 90's with a long drop on left side 3 more points also. Steal has some long main beam and almost 24 wide. My brother has shed's off him for about 6 years. He was 9 and would not have maid this winter.

Deer rifle season is 5 days and a draw here in New Mexico. Seeing hunters depends on which hunt you pick ie first hunt lots of people,2nd hunt less people. Since I can hunt the whole 5 days I see fewer people out after Saturday & Sunday.

Last year I hunted deer for the weekend, because I had an cow elk tag and would rather hunt elk 5 days than deer.

I thought it was a good choice. Killed this one on the 3rd day(Monday) of the hunt.

Nice bucks..hunting should be fun..not just for score..

WSM, Acouple years ago I hunted your country..fooled around there for 2 wks looking for a buck..Finally said the heck with it and packed my truck for the trip home..Stopped the last hour to visit a friend on his small farm..He suggested I watch a field near the barn the last minutes of the season..Just a few minutes before quitting time a nice buck came in to the field..I had my .25-06..One shot at about 350 did him in..Never would I have believed that would happen..Just can't give up I guess..

Sam,

Someday I'll load some others too. My wife has scanned a bunch in on the desk top, but I was late getting in on the photo game. I bought my first camera about 10 years ago -- right before my daughter was born. I keep a camera around now and use my iPhone camera more than I should. I never use the desk top, just play on here with the iPad.

I really regret not documenting a good photo history. Just too young and dumb then I guess. I stress taking pictures to my kids now...and they understand why. I'm gonna buy a really good camera this summer...and look for advice from guys here...especially one...

Many hunters fool around the whole season and don't score. Took me a few years of paying attention to the deer on the property I hunt until I started being successful on a regular basis. When you have as many hunters in a small area it can get frustrating. I have sat and listened to the gunshots and knew the deer were cut off from getting to where I hunt and not seen a deer all day. Only to have them all over the place the next because they got over the hill or down the hollow finally. Having a hunter behind every other tree is another reason to use a bit more gun sometimes. A deer that runs out of sight here often becomes someone elses even if that persona shoots into the ground and says he shot it. Seen it happen many a times to people.
