Thinking about the WWG Happy Trigger for my 1895CB. I have the J.B. Wood
assembly/disassembly book but it lists the 336 and not the 1895 specifically. Are these actions essentially the same? Don't want to take mine down only to find differently.

Of course their web site says to have a gunsmith install these ( liability issue, no doubt) but is there any reason an average fellow can't do the job? How are the instructions? I've done some trigger kits before but not on a lever.
Only thing I don't like about my Marlin is the crappy trigger.

Thanks

I bought my Wild West Trigger from Jim West at the '05 SCI Convention. He gave me verbal instructions on installation that I was able to follow. He also said that they have an 800 number and they will talk you through the process. It was fairly easy to install in my 1895 SS. It should work for the 336 as well. The trigger pull was reduced to 2 1/2 pounds and there was no creep. I think it was a good additition to my Marlin.

I had a Wild West trigger installed in my 1895SS and it's great.Big improvement. If I remember there were no instructions and as it seemed to be pretty straight forward I attempted to install it myself until "which way did that part go" happened.

Went over to the gun shop and the counter guy loudly called the smith downstairs "Hey we got one of those part time gunsmiths up here".He came up and was back in a minute with it installed. No charge.

BTW I took it to The Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown,Pa.Great guys

Not for the faint of heart, but a home trigger job a viable do-it-yerself project. The 100 + bucks you save by not buying the 'drop-in' trigger can be used for other stuff... ammo components come first to mind!

I bought a WW trigger & am happy with it, but am also happy with the trigger lightening procedure I've done on 4 other Marlins. SW
