Union Carbide (long gone after an attempt to stop a hostile take over) Polyethylene glycol was a waste product from plastics and is the base for antifreeze. It was dumped as waste in the Kanawha river at South Charleston, WV and two employees figured out it kept the river from freezing. Prestone antifreeze was born.
Prestone anti freeze, Bakelite plastics, and Eveready battery were trade marks of Union Carbide.

I was born and raised in Nebraska. My adopted home state is Arkansas. Left Nebraska after 50 years, been in Arkansas for 11 years.
Nebraska : Hornady and Cabela's.
Arkansas : Tyson Foods, JB Hunt and Wal*Mart.
I know there are more for both states, but it is early for me and my brain hasn't fully engaged yet.
