an accurate one...once you get up to the .243, saving pelts is usually not first on the list. So what's it matter how the bullet performs once it connects. Make sure it connects and be happy..
Laws aren't preventative measures. In other words, more laws won't prevent gun crime from happening.

What's the best 243 round for coyotes? I used enough RL-15 to power the 55 gr Ballistic Tips to 4125 fps out of a 26" heavy barreled M-70 Winchester, loaded in Lapua brass and lit with Fed-210 Match primers. Extremely accurate load, and unbelievably devastating on coyotes, crows and the like. Gunner

I used the 95 gr Berger VLD and the 75 gr vmax on a few last winter. The VLD was easy on fur if the hits weren't on the edges. I put I big hole in one big male I called in but I hit him a touch high. The 75 worked well but I didn't put many down with that load.
If you are saving pelts go with a slower heavier bullet that works good for deer. Get a hole in and a hole out.

The local gov't trapper likes 65 grain Vmax..I didn't ask his load..I used the 85 grain Serria HPBT for many years..Right now I have 70 grain Serria Blitzkings loaded..They are the choice of our other local gov.t trapper ...

The one in your chamber. I used soft points out of my 788 when I had it... Course, I didn't care about pelts though.

55-58g bullet is what a pal uses, deadly and flat out drops them on the spot. I load a 58g vmax for my .243 backup coyote rig.
Did I make you cry......boooo hooo, life goes on.

I use a 70 gr Sierra Blitzking over Varget. Works fine and very accurate.

+1 on the "most accurate one" as long as it is not fmj. T.S.

+1 on the 70 grain Sierra at about 3450. It shoots to zero and 100 NP @ about 3000 shoots exactly 3" higher with no deviation R or L with the same setting. I have had that combo imprinted in my brain so long that using either bullet is second nature. I do not hunt for fur. Jack

87 VMax is where it's at.
The 80 Sierra Blitz is interesting too.
The 70 Nosler BT is never a bad choice for most anything.

My 243win loves Reloder 19 powder, for whatever reason.
70NBT's @ 2.620" with 48.1 of RL19 and CCI BR-2 primers doing about 3,250 fps.
85HPBT's @ 2.650" with 45.8 of RL19 and CCI BR-2's again, just topping 3,000.
These shoot really nice tight groups in my Tikka T3 Lite 1in10.
A buddy with a Savage found the 70's did best in his at 47.7, at 2.625, and the 85HPBT's in his were great at 45.4 or .6 I can't remember which, but at the same 2.650" as mine.
I'm shooting Sierra 80SBT (Blitz) bullets right now with Reloder 17 and getting some good speed. Up to about 47.7 grains, seating the bullets wayyyyy long, doing 3,300 fps. Now for these I'm shooting Fed210GM match primers, but talk about explosive - WOW! This is a great long range bullet, but not at all fur friendly.
