I have one in .243 and I love it. No modifications, it shoots better out of the box than any rifle I ever bought...

If you would have asked me 3 months ago I would have said browning, but I got off my ass and finally shot a Icon and they are really nice and well made. I hate the way TC pimps their products, but the Icon is a shooter. I continue to learn something new every day.

When I looked in T/C's 2013 catalog, they no longer show the Icon. The website still shows it as an option. I had a weathershield in .308 and it would easily shoot under an 1" at 100 yards. The rifle felt heavier than a similar Remington 700, but not bad. I sold it because the stock shape did not fit me and I did not like the Weathershield finish. It was rough and attracted every bit of dust and dirt within a mile. Also the bolt lift was heavy to cock on opening which isn't unusual for a 3 lug bolt. If you are shooting from the shoulder and want a fast follow-up it may not be easily done.

Built like a tank and made to last. I have a weathersheild in 308 4 digit serial number that is going nowhere.

I like the Browning better, just the way they fit me I suppose.

I owned the Icon stainless in .308. It shot lights out. However, I considered it heavy and a bit cumbersome for a sporting rifle. 24" barrel was a bit much for me. As stated, it is built like a tank. I eventually sold mine and bought a Model 70 stainless in the same caliber. Chris.

I have one in .308, I really like it, very accurate out of the box. Made in the USA.
Magazines are expensive and may become hard to get (3 round single stack). You really can't load it singly from the top.
the first production run had nice figured solid wood. The subsequent runs had a laminated stock that looks solid from the side but has a pair of lines running full length along the top and bottom of the stock.
The goofy non-knob bolt is not a butter-knife either, more of a chisel digging into your side as you carry it over your shoulder with a sling.
slightly heavy, which might contribute to why it shoots so good.
Have no plans to sell mine!

I've shot one a few times and wasn't crazy about the balance. The rifle shot well enough though.
The Browning stock fits me better and doesn't have that perch belly where the magazine fits into the stock.

I recently acquired two, one in .243 and 30TC. Both have the Weathershield finishes and Hogue stocks. Great triggers and I really like the integrated scope bases. I am looking to sell the 30TC if you are interested.

I have 300 Win mag that I Like a lot, just took it to Argentina. A little heavier that a Browning or Remington which I have and like as well. The extra weight helps shooting comfort. The gun is well under MOA. I just ordered a 7MM Reminton Magnum in an Icon. Seeker
