Is there anymore discussion on why we need PRIVATE schools?

I carried a knife from first grade on. We were expected to, even by the teachers, who occasionally borrowed them. It was just part of life. If you were a guy, you had a knife.

California is a [bleep] up place with lotsa [bleep] up people, I have absolutley no desire to ever visit that place.

When I was a kid I carved on sticks during recess and explored in the woods behind the school.

I did too, but in Oct. 1967 I went to Ft. Bliss, Texas for basic training and they made me put my knife in a box and said that I could not have it with a 2 1/2 inch blade. Then they gave me a bayonet. I am still confused but not as much as Gus. grin miles

It's in every classroom now. A few months back, I was asked to pick up a friends grandson from Kindergaten class. I walked in and started to sign him out when he blurted out "Oh no, you have a knife, you're not supposed to have knives in school". I explained to him that while that may be true for students, it didn't apply to adults. Hell, they can expell me all they want! LOL

Now if he had been an alien, arrested for domestic abuse, and made a trip to a suspicious area in Russia and had a pressure cooker instead of a swiss army knife, he probably wouldn't have raised an eyebrow...

Many of the teachers in the district have a wall in their classroom for the kids to bring in hunting photos. Many of the pics have the hunting tool clearly displayed. The school continuing to allow this makes me happy.

Anyone else have positive news on this front?? We can't let the bastards win.
