Here are tow recent completed auctions that seem to show a marked increase in the price of classic guns in very good condition:

1956 .243 Winchester MDL 70 $2051

High Standard 18-7 $631

Winchester 88 $1100

I've noticed just the opposite here lately. I've stumbled across some pretty good deals thanks to the poor economy..

Can't say you're lucky, when people need to sell a rifle to pay the bills, but I guess it's a tiny upside. Around here, the gun crazies are paying 200%-300% over prices a couple years back. That Obama boy should take some credit for boosting margins on guns and ammo.

Even on the classics (pre 64 model 70's etc) as the thread title implies??? Around here people are buying more semi-auto pistols than anything else..Prices have skyrocketed on the 10-22's if you want to call that a classic. To give a quick example, I've recently seen 3 pre 64 fwt's for sale at local gunshows for less than $850.00. Another pre 64 custom chambered in 22-250 sell for $600.00 (If the guy in front of me hadn't of bought it, it would have been mine). I also know where an all original (yes it has the aluminum butt plate on it too) fwt 30-06 is for $800.00. Keeping that one for myself though. Oops, I didn't mention the old sako I saw the other day for $500.00
