My main problem with bow hunting is the number of animals that I've seen lost after a foul hit. In all my years of deer hunting with a rifle I can recall only two deer I've shot, known I've hit, found blood and not recovered. I've hunted with a number of guys that are bow only hunters that wound deer and if they can't find blood within a couple minutes don't even try to recover the animal. Over the years I've lost several deer and hogs while bow hunting. One of the reasons I limit my self to 25 paces on deer. I'd rather get busted than make a bad shot. Hogs it don't matter so much, so I will stretch it a lil bit.

Best

Thanks boxer.......still have seen no insults even though you try. No sway backs and no concrete. I hanged pics same reason as you did of trees saws boots etc....

The sway back stuff don't work cause they ain't. They fine examples and I know it. Concrete ain't there cause I was......but yes I cross it from time to time but that's no bother either. We ride trails and I know cause I'm there. My pics are not top quality and have done said that. They won't be better next weekend either....

Your pics are nice but they all re-runs.....

You live in a awesome place and have a great family...congrats. Seriously.

Since you live where you do and take such great pics please show some of moose grizzly sheep goat and boo's. The game you have access to is unreal!! Please show some of your awesome pics of a grizzly sheep or goat kill. That would be more cool than feesh and gear laying in the water.

But hey I'm just joking around too. I know your a nice guy and have already thanked you for the helpfull advice. Hope y'all have a good enjoyable day tomorrow.

Didn't take long....

Dickhead

hey that was very nice and personal...

I especially loved that touch where you signed it with your nickname... that was very very nice...

guess you are a gentleman like most Kiwis I have met...

I'm guessing that you realise that the 'Dickhead' was directed at you, but maybe I am making too much of an assumption given that you have shown a total lack of intelligence on this entire thread.

So (to clarify any misunderstanding) the 'Dickhead' was directed at you - Dickhead.

I can count the deer I've lost on one hand. I will admit that I've had help from good tracking dogs though. Every bird dog I've owned has pulled double duty as blood trailers. My long shots have all been on calm unknowing animals that were positioned perfectly broadside or quartering away. All of those have piled up within 25 yards as well. In fact the ones I've lost or had to track with a dog have been those that were close and what I thought were gimmee shots. Some times even ideal conditions aren't what they appear.

Sorry it was pavement......not concrete. My mistake. Still don't help you much.

Yes the pic of your pard on the bike with the buck was/is very funny. Your pards kill some great stuff. Espically Pappy and ramhunter. I'd hunt with them more if I was you. The pics you could take of what they do would be amazing!

10/4 on that
Where I hunt it's so thick that if you don't find significant blood within 10' or so, many times you don't find your animal. I don't have dogs for tracking. Also, here in October, it can easily be in the mid nineties at sundown. Between the temps, the hogs, coyotes, fox, ants and other vermin, there is no coming back and looking the next morning.
I believe in the dominion covenant. That is that man was to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth and that he was given dominion over the birds of the air and beasts of the field. I have no problem with killing, and am not critical of how any hunter chooses to take his game. I don't worry about ethics when considering the fact that I am killing a living being, skinning it, dismembering it and burning its flesh for my sustenance. I have just set a standard for myself as to what and when.

Best to you and yours.

Fixed it for ya.........only thing is, he hooks a lot of suckers. It is entertaining to watch them pretend to reel in with their fins though.
