Without knowing you don't know, but it sounds like the sos from the original AWB. If they can do it with no more invasiveness than those guns exhibited, it may be okay...but it will still put them behind the eight ball with competitors who have the better, more featured guns. Also what happens when CT decides to write legislation outlawing their new design specifically? Make a stand and move. Let Connecticut stew in their own juice.

If I was them - I'd move rather than redesign. Gonna spend a ton of $$ to do the redesign.
Then the state says "Nope - still not legal"
You spend more cash either fighting it in court or redesigning again.
Were it me, I'd move and be done.
I'd be interested in knowing - what's the tipping point? Can't sell/own an AR in CT but as a mfg they can have them laying around ready for shipment to other states? How soon before some AG decides to send a message and shut them down for illegal possession - regardless of their MFG status?
Nope - I'd leave.

Move.
Staying in a state that does not value the Second Amendment is just giving in to the liberals.

The new design is a shot in the dark. Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy had a mixed response to the announcement, on the one hand criticizing Stag Arms for its profit-driven strategy but also acknowledging that the gun could be legal. He stated, It says that gun companies will do anything to sell guns Isn't that what every manufacturing company wants to do, sell what it makes. If I built a company that made a billion left handed widgets wouldn't I want to sell them? What a stupid comment.

Just maybe they are going to push the point to see if the State will then try outlawing the new design? If so they could take the case to the courts and force the issue that way. They may not be knuckling under at all.

How many could they really sell in CT anyway? They have said publically CT only was about 5% of their business, which might be 3500-4000/yr. I would guess that the tooling costs will take a lot more than that to make it profitable.

I don't think any redesigns will help them. The AR is popular because it's easy to shoot. And that is why liberals hate them. If Stag actually improves the design, it will be double plus evil as far as the libs are concerned..

And even if you do redesign and are able to sell and the state doesn't shut you down - what says the public will want to BUY the new design?

I won't buy any gun or product made in a gun ban state period.

The only reason anyone manufactures in any state is because of the tax credits if they aren't profitable it's because someone didn't crunch the numbers right...Move to a state with better tax breaks I'm sure there are plenty of suitors!

A simple way to make them legal would be to integrate the pistol grip into a stock so it becomes just a semi-auto.

What change in design??? Nothing is indicated.
If I was that company, I'd be searchin' for a new plant OUTSIDE of CT..
