Scenarshooter, tell me a little more about your rig, and what town you call home.

What do those bullets preform like at that range and velocity?
It will warm up before you know it.

I shot my cold bore shot this morning while waiting for feed to mix in the feed truck. My target was 517 yards. My target was at a angle, it is a 5.5x5.5 inch gong, I had about a 4"x5.5 target the way it was angled. I was shooting from the calving barn instead of my normal position by the house. If I would have been shooting from the house the target would have been straight on and only 410 yards. The wind was calm temps low 50's 1.6 mils up (I am zeroed at 300) and held nothing for wind. If the target would have been straight on I would have come pretty close to dead center but instead I hit center of target but close(1") to the edge that was facing me. It was a hit but not center is what I am trying to explain.
That is my scariest target for me, I miss that little target more than I miss my 1000, I just syke myself out sometimes on it because of its size.

Scenarshooter, tell me a little more about your rig, and what town you call home. That rifle is my GAP smithed Surgeon 591. 6MM Creedmoor Bartlein 26" #7, 1-7.5" 5R, 26" RAD brake Mcmillan A5, Badger DBM Jewell trigger Near 34MM rings S&B 4-16X50 PMII MIL/MIL(GenII reticle)single turn. The first two tubes were 6XC. I went with the Creed with the third barrel to try something different. I'm getting 3100fps with 105 Berger Hybrids. Glasgow is home.....

Hal The 105 Hybrids are still in the T&E stage as far as seeing how and if they expand properly on coyotes.....I haven't seen enough yet to call it a good, or a poor coyote bullet. FWIW, today I had one run 300+ meters after taking a perfect broadside rib shot at 340 meters. Luckily it was open country and I found it. Exit hole was about 1/2". The other one that was with it, took a frontal, facing shot at 210 meters and never took a step. That bullet went completely through her from end to end. If they don't work well enough, I'll go to the 115gr Hunting VLD's. I've taken several hundred coyotes with that one in the XC and it works really well, even at 800+ meters. The concept of the 105 Hybrid with a G1 BC the same as the 115gr and 150fps more speed is why I'm fooling around with it on coyotes. The 105 Hybrid is the bullet I'll use for comps this summer.

Shot 6... Today I chose 804 yards. Wind was out of the south today around 7mph, so it was coming across the range from right to left. Temps are in the low 60's. My 800 yard gong is 9x9. I moved my scope up 4.2 mils and held 1 mil on the left side of target. I missed by about .5 of a mil to the left of the target. Seemed to be more wind down range than there was at the house. Just for fun I moved down the the calving barn and shot 3 times at the 1100 yard gong, first shot miss, the next 2 I put on the gong. I might have to try the 1100 for my day seven target. I did video my shots today but I can't zoom in that close to the target to see anything or hear the hit on the camera. I need a bigger video camera.

Thanks for the update LBSmith I got my camera for like 220 shipped The last 2 days I have been shooting Berger 168 VLD's With RL-15 powder. And that is a load I have NO experience with. I am not blaming the results on that. But check this out Here are some groups I shot after the Cold Bore shot with my original load with a 168gr SMK with Varget powder and the VLD RL-15 SMK< 5 shots each >VLD Day #6 is uploading now

Someone pointed out my case of Dyslexia, I said 8.5 mll and I dialed 9.5 mil. Just went and checked my ballistic chart. and I should have dialed 9.5 mil. Guess I was thinking one thing and talking about another. haha
