galt, I have a small ring Spanish '95 Mauser that has a mountain rifle contour barrel on it. The stock was cracked at the wrist and has been correctly repaired. It has been drilled and tapped and I have a Buehler safety to go w/it. Good recoil pad and bore is excellent. Stock needs painting and rifle needs to be cold blued. No rust or pits anywhere. I have fired the rifle and it fires and functions fine. I want #150 plus $25 shipping. This gun can go to a Curio and and Relics dealer. powdr

Well good luck in that range you will have to settle for a 93 or 95 + then that is debatable. If you can find a 98 in that price range...beware.Back when Reagan was in office + I still had my license I was building rifles using 98 actions for $50.00 ea. Times have changed. I see 98 actions going for $400.00 + up.Just for what its worth, go with a 98,don't mess w/ a 93/95.If you insist on using a 95 action you can purchase a cock on opening attachment, however you are still remiss the 3rd locking lug as well as other pluses on the 98.

looking to spend less than $200 here. Check Northwest Armory in Portland oregon. They had a 98 mauser in 8x57 for $175.00 the last time I was there. It would be a real good candidate for a project. They aren't open on sundays, but you can email or call them on monday. They do internet sales/auctions so they would probably be pretty easy to deal with. Good luck with it..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Nope but your welcome to send it back. I've got that much in the barrel, drill and tap, and safety.
