I just got 250-3000 take down from an uncle some times it shoots some times it doesn't ?Leaves a mark on primer but not as deep as fired . any help would be greatly appreciated.

Firing pin/mainspring is likely gummed up with old oil. It will have to be disassembled to clean.

+1 Old crusty oil bad. A good cleaning and fresh oil good.

Becareful if you disasemble the bolt that you don't loose the tiny hammer rebound spring it will pop out when you pull the firing pin asembly out of the bolt.
