Just acquired a 30-06 and before buying dies I want to test fire it. Something that won't break the bank. I've never liked the 30-06 thus I've never owned one. Don't know why? Help me out here guys. powdr

At the moment I don't think there is any inexpensive ammo. 'course I remember screaming when 5 boxes of '06 cost me $40.

Yet one more for the Federal Blue Box. Killed a nice fat Missouri 7pt last year with the 180s. Nice heart/lung shot from about 110yd, ran 15yds, and piled up.

My 700 likes 180 grain bullets-----150's don't group at all. Not much difference in the Big 3. Killed elk & deer with all 3.

Another vote for Federal Blue Box if you can find it. Winchester silver box PP's are a close second in every .30-06 I've tried.

Sellier and Beliot - J&G Sales has them starting around $17.00 per box of 20.
Great Ammo, I use the Federal too, but S&B is better.
