We had a great weekend of 4-wheeling once the thunderstorms ended we headed up to the Nemadji State Forest, just south of Duluth, in Gophergunner's talked about Pine County.

Here are a few pics...

The trail we followed, an great honor to ride on the trails named after a fallen veteran who enjoyed the same trail we did yesterday.

No great skill needed to ride here, but fun was there to be had.

Even a little place to stop for a rest.

Even a big water crossing wide and deep enough that someone placed baseball sized rock in it

Handy work of the beaver...check out the logging in the background they did to build that hut!

It was a blast. We have plans to head up again soon to check out the other trails. We put on 30+ miles and were cut short by a flat on the wheeler. There are many, many miles to cover out there and I'd like to hit them all.

There is a 62 mile loop we'd like to go hit next time!

Awesome!! Wow that's quite a stringer of walleye!

I'd guess them to range from 16 to 19 inches? Nice work!!

Nice stringer of Walleyes. That would be a 5 man limit of Walleyes on many WI lakes.

Tom hope you carry a tire repair kit with you on the quad.

I do now Bill. grin

It wasn't completly flat. But enough to cut the ride short. The tires are probably due to be replaced with something more serviceable to trail riding but they cost as much as dang car tires!

A tad less than 18 was the biggest due to the slot on Big Pine.

There were 4 of us, but it is one-day's "work" from a pontoon. smile

Looks like you had fun Tom!

Nice stringer of 'eyes Goalie!

Man the woodticks are THICK this year! Even in mowed lawn grass the dogs were covered in them. I finally bought some Frontline and got them treated yesterday.

I'm in SD for work. On my lunch hour, I went to a new sporting goods shop that just opened. They have four bricks (325 count) of .22 lr on the shelf for...............$50.00 PER BRICK! crazy

When is this madness going to end?

Well I'll say it, since all of our hearts are there already...

Thoughts and prayers with the tornado victims in OK. Among the casualty report which unfortunately still grows, 20 some school children, the worse kind of loss imaginable.

We've got a lot of members down in that area. Hopefully all are accounted for and out of harm's way. Prayers sent.

I tought a few guys or gals here would like to see this... My dad is fully restoring his 1949 Merc M47 Pickup. This is kind of a rare truck but a really rare resto for him. He's putting back to bone stock because he has all the orginal parts, including the Canadian flat head motor. The Merc trucks from this era were all from Canada.

I'd not be surprised if he has over 1K hours in it. He's been working literally full time on it since Jan. to get it finished by the Back to the 50's car show in mid-June. But he doesn't think he'll make it in time.

Here are a few pics.

My favorite part is the interior. He spend so many hours on this. Including rebuilding the orig. heater box and duct work.
I love these gauges though.

Tom let me know if there are any particular pieces I might ba able to scavange for your dad off my 51 ford.

It sure is looking good.

I just saw that the OK death toll has been corrected in a very favorable direction, they cut the number in half! A counting error! Thank goodness for bad counting! It is still a horrible disaster, but seeing that number drop by about 52% is NOT a bad thing.

Wow, what a great truck, Tom! I'm amazed at what all these car cranks can do.
