and erase any mention of him in the record books. The guy is a disgrace, and if MLB doesn't do what they should in this case, they can consider me history from the ranks of even following baseball in any form or fashion. But did you ever actually believe he was NOT using steroids? To get that far in front of so many others trying so hard, many using steroids heavily also, is simply too amazing to accept.
As more of these guys start expiring young the reasons for their early deaths will be easier to understand. Remember Lyle Alzado? He was not alone and the consequences will probably start showing up.
I make zero inference to the passing of Kirby Puckett, as that is coincidental. Anyone can die young, but pro athletes will be dropping like flies soon, IMO, proving through an abundance of data that they are risking much for current fame. art
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

A buddy of mine played with him in college at ASU. "Was the biggest jerk, smarta$$, you'd ever hope to meet". Serves him right. What goes around comes around has never been more true.
It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

Sitka,
No, I figured that the POS was doping. They just needed to catch him. Looks like they did; and by his own words to save his hide while under oath in the BALCO cases.
Done deal, IMHO. Bye-bye, Barry.

I know its not right or proper ... but I wish someone would give him a good Nancy Kerrigan treatment ... I don't want to see Hank's record fall to him.

Why just Barry? Why just wipe his records off the books?

The guy was always a jerk. His father was the same way.Bobby Bonds could have been one of the all time greats, but lost enormous amounts of playing time due to his many fights with other players and management of the teams he played for. This is what comes from being raised in an atmosphere where you become convinced that you can get away with anything.Even though,by all accounts , he's a very nice man, even Mr. McGwire's records, and Sosa's too , should be erased.

Agreed. If they're dirty and they cheated, then out they go, along with any/all reference to them in the records.

I agree. They ban Pete Rose and then keep these idiots who have done more to harm baseball than anyone.

I'm hoping his knees will blow out all on their own. In addition to adding muscle mass, steroids promote rapid healing. I think that without steroids there is a good chance Bonds won't be able to stay healthy enough to hit more than a dozen more HR. Unfortunately, that would put him past the Babe.

Pete Rose bet on baseball, these guys weren't even breaking the rules of MLB until last year. I don't really care whether he was using it or not, he wasn't breaking the rules of MLB, neither was Mark McGuire. I don't care whether they cheated look at the general size of baseball players over the last 15 years, the avareage size has gone up about the same amount as Barry has. The fact that Barry is an a..hole and Mark Mcguire was a great guy don't change anything. Mickey Mantle and Bobby Orr played Hockey anbd baseball hyped up on Bennies all the time. Different period, different rules.

Another case of guilty until proven innocent. Sooner or later there will be enough evidence presented in factual form that even the good ole boys in MLB will have to sit up and take notice. Where does the IRS get into drug abuse cases. sounds like another abuse of power to me.

Then also ban McGuire, Palmero, Sosa, etc! I might be mistaken about this but as I recall McGuire and Sosa weren't doing anything against the rules at the time. Remembering the disclosure on McGuire in the press during his run at Ruth's record.... File in the FWIW Dept., I've not paid attention to athletic sports of any kind since the early '80s...too much money, greed, and too many ignorant rectal orifices flappin' their gums...pro and college, not that their's much difference. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

First I will say that I am not a Barry Bonds fan, that said, we shouldn't single him out just because he is so close to breaking Hank Aaron's record (who, incidently was an a$$hole too) Almost ALL of the hitters use steroids. Almost all of NFL players use steroids. They weren't against MLB rules, but they were against the law. Where and how do we draw the line? How far back to we go?
