I'm think of getting a slug gun, I like the benelli 12 gauge autos, although I've never shot one.

I will have to special order, so I will not get to feel it out before buying.

Both function and form are good to me. I don't like their camo pattersns and will get a black matte. It seems like there newest slug model is the super black eagle II. However, I don't care for the appearance of the trigger guard on that model. I like the appearance of the M2 better. Is there any functional difference between the 2? Also you can get no raised comb, raised comb, and extra high comb. I don't care for the look of the raised combs, but are they critical to getting better accuracy?

thanks

I have had both the m1 super 90 and now the sbe II. I like the sbe more than I thought I would. There really is nothing that functions like a benelli.

I don't have a slug barrel but wouldn't hesitate to do it.

What do you like specificallly about the sbe II? Could I expect it to be noticably superior to the M2?

No it won't be superior. If you're just going to shoot slugs get the M2.

Hell, the only reason I got the sbeII is because the shop didn't have the m2 I wanted and I was too impatient to order one.

I've been living in shotgun only states for the past 20 years and have tried or owned darn near ever conceivable brand of slug gun made. My search ended when I bought an M2 slug gun.

It shoots better than any other slug gun I owned.

I have M1 super 90 as well but if i were going to get a slug gun I think the xtrema II slug gun would be the one since recoil will be reduced a tad.

That is functionally the biggest difference. The barrel/receiver connection is different but I don't think it matters. It doesn't to me anyway.

Interesting post and I have a question for those of you that have the M1 Super 90.
I have one as well and may have an opportunity to hunt in a shotgun only state this season. After pricing the slug barrel for this, I am wondering what the +/- are of using the standard barrel. If this is a workable option, I assume one would use the #5 choke?
Thanks

For the price of a slug barrel on a benelli, I'd go buy an 870 with a slug barrel on it already. smile
