As usual we haven't the foggiest idea what you are saying but welcome home any way.

Jim From what I've read, he took a 45-70 AI to Brazil to shoot cross-dressers while changing his underwear.

You'll damage your frame. Not my SW "X" frame (500 Mag). Just back off the H110 a little if you are forced to use Large Rifle Magnum primers. I say forced because at the time Large Rifle Primers were as plentiful as hen's teeth. They work just as well in my Reeder custom 500 Magnum. Cross purpose?

I hear the new .45-70 Ackley is AMAZING ... the 40 shoulder alone adds 579 fps. A wildcatter whom I met a buncha years ago had come-up with something that he called the .45-70 ISW (ISW for "improved somewhat"). The biggest problem is extraction. When the shoulder diameter exceeds the base, it creates a situation. Blessings, Steve

Just got back from a 10-day trip to South Africa late last night and it's good to see the Campfire hasn't changed. Still the same bunch of cross-purpose posts by people who don't really read or understand the original post, plus a little sensible stuff mixed in! This is exactly why it was foolish to hunt plains game with 1 1/8 ounce of 6 shot. It probably did take you ten days of following blood trails. I'm cross, thus the reason for this post.

What's the best handgun caliber for Bear defense?
Bears cannot use handguns Snake What?? You have never heard of our right to arm bears??
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.
