Never used the powder but guess its as good as time to try it as any. I will be making a road trip soon so hopefully I will find some in my travels as time allows?

I will jump on the H1000 bandwagon. Good velocity and extremely low ES/SD.

Just finished working up a load for 6.5-06 with 14o SGk's and Bergers. The game kings load was 58.4 gr and 2920 fps.

Also have an AI version which prefers a bit stiffer recipe using H1000.

Tried and Tried to get H4831 and a few others to produce to no avail. H1000 has better range or tolerance on either side of the node as well. At least that is my experience.

After shooting/hunting with three different 6.5-06's, I have settled on 1-8 twist and necking up 25-06 brass as the way to go with this cartridge. H4831 works best for me.....

You ain't lying if my gun will shoot half that good. I am good to 400 yards, never had a real opportunity to shoot past that so I hope to find a piece of land or range to really learn to shoot like some of the guys on this forum can. I may even end up going to a shooting school for long range or precision shooting if I can find a reputable one and get ran through the paces to learn. It is awesome the technology advances and ammunition advances to shoot this accurately!!!! Not to mention that the advances mentioned above are no substitute for skill required to shoot long range and make first shot hits at unknown and known ranges!

Just had one built. 24", 8 twist barrel. Throated for the 139 Scenar. I bought Norma 25-06 brass. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet...

I just lube the 25-06 necks with graphite and pull the lever. Fireformed cartridges have no appeal to me anymore.

I use 270 Winchester Brass trimmed to 30-06 length. My reasoning, I have a couple 270'S in which I use Winchester brass exclusivley, so I wanted to avoid confusion there. Also, I use 25-06 in a 6mm-06, so I didn't have that option either. I really like the 6.5-06, really good on antelope and deer. Now I know some will poo poo my bullet choice, but I am using 120 Grain Sieera Game Kings, with 54 Grains of IMR4831.

Good caliber, good choice.
