I'd say that's way more than "kinda a nice one"

Awwww.. even with the in-crowd mandatory Campfire Blue Tape...

just a nice thoughtful and peaceful look pic there Tanner...

poor guys who live east of the Mississippi don't know what they are missing...

first time I was "out west" was the summer of 1969... our Explorer Post went to Glacier and Waterton National Parks.. We hiked 294 miles that August in both of those parks...

I knew then, that I'd spend my adult years in the West...

Pics like Tanner's show exactly why...

I've kicked rocks in a fair bit of the west, but a couple of my favorite places remain in the east.

Nice pics, fellas.

Dan is it a 270 or 30/06?

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Me too. I went to a gunshop in a real small town out in the middle of nowhere and he had this 280 mountain rifle on the wall. I asked the guy about it and he said that he couldn't sell the rifle to anyone. He said he could sell it if it was a 270 or 3006. I traded him a Stainless 700 in 30-06 and a non-matching parts mauser K98 to him for it. I tripped the B&C stock that came on it and he threw in 3 boxes of Federal Premium factory ammo loaded with 150gr Partitions. I took my McMillan KS Edge off of the 30-06 and put it on this rifle.

This is my 1952 MS in 257 Roberts. It has been around a while but still does a great job. It is a solid 1.5 inch rifle with enough groups under an inch to keep things interesting. No plastic, no stainless and no paint!
