By the way, you know the easy way to bore sight that rifle don't ya? Just pull the bolt out, secure the rifle in a solid rest. Set up a target 25-35 yards out. Center your target in the bore as you look through the the bore from the back. Then check the scope to see if the crosshairs are centered on the target. Once you get the two centered on the same target, fire a test shot and adjust accordingly. Easy peasy, and in a half dozen shots or less you'll be on at 100yrds. Try gettn sighted in about 1/2-1" low at 25 yards. Thanks for the tip. I am itching to get out and shoot it, I can't wait any more tips are greatly appreciated. My dad was not a outdoors person even now asks why I need so much ammo or carry a gun. So it's all new to me and hopefully I can teach my boys.

She looks good from here and I'm glad you ditched the see-thrus. Pick up a bottle of Howard Feed-n-Wax and put it to the wood.

Nice rifle. Excellent one to start out on. Should be extremely dependable which is what you need in a good hunting rifle. From my experience with the husky's it should shoot pretty good too....If you can hold out, I'd opt for the 2 piece weaver type mounts instead of the one piece windage adjustable ones. Good luck with your new rifle and your hunting...... Big +1!!! Talley lightweights and a VX2 3-9x40mm w/ ballistic reticle would be my choice. Put the cash you save into ammo and/or components if you're reloading. You won't miss the extra magnification I guarantee, nor the bulk & length of the more powerful scope. Sweet score!

Thanks I got vx-1 4-12x40 with the lr duplex. I'm happy with the current scope and am hoping to start reloading soon. Money I save I'm going to buy my son a rifle so I can at least start taking him to shoot targets, I've slowly started teaching him gun safety.

Thanks for the heads up when I get a Chance I will order some. Last night a friend called and gave me some reloading dies, a bunch of .17-222 ammo and a 115v powered brass trimmer. I have a tumbler I use to clean my straight razors so looks like I'm going to have to hunt down the rest. Now onto lunch.
