OK ... I know there are a LOT of people here that have come to love the .223, in one form or another ... but of course, our published loading data books don't always have the info we need to get going when we have a specific bullet and powder combo we want to try ...

I've got a batch of 69g SMK's and some RE-15 that I want to mix up ... Just not sure where to start ... Closest data I have is 25g RE-15 for a 62g bullet ... I know, I could just back down to about 22g and work up from there ... but I don't necessarily like to load up a bunch of "crap" loads if I can avoid it ...

Sooooo ..... Can someone please share some load data with the 69g SMK and RE15? I've got 40 hulls sized and primed, ready to go as soon as I get the data ...

thanks.

I am showing 23.9 - 26.5 gr of RL-15 with the 69 gr SMK in my loading notes. Good luck.

Spudz ...

Knowing that the Nosler #5 manual typically has their max loads set lower than most, I figured that I'd be ok going with 24.5g as a starting point and still be very safe ... Thanks for confirming that info...

I've shot some FGGM ammo with the 69g SMKs, and they shot VERY well... I just have no clue what powder they use, and what amount ... Anyone know how I can find that info?

Can't help you on that but I do get better results using Varget with the 69gr SMK than I did with RL-15, your results could be different.

I've got 23.3-25.7 with RE15. Though 25.3grs Varget is the accuracy load, fwiw. J

Guys, think a 1 in 9 twist would stabilize that bullet?

The 1-10 twist of my Sig PE90 stabilizes the 69 SMK.

Life begins at 40. Recoil begins at "Over 40" Coincidence? I don't think so.
