I don't have one, but a friend had a Howa 1500 in 6.5x55 and it had a very deep throat, with 140 grain bullets having to take a lengthy jump to the rifling. This particular rifle had a very heavy laminated stock on it that combined with the deep throat and butt-heavy balance made is a "fail" for me.

My Tikka has a longgggg throat. made a believe out of me that distance to the lands is a myth regarding accuracy.

I called Thompson Center last week and was told that the Venture is "in production" in 6.5 Swede. Hopefully we'll see then in fall or winter. The specs are in the new catalog on their website.

1.5 to 2.5 MOA without any load developement. 1.5 MOAish with 140 grain AMax and 2.5 MOAish with 129 grain SSTs.

My current 6.5 Tikka has always shot fairly well...

Outta the box...adjusted trigger...I use Leo two pc bases with

Burris Signature rings...3-12 Nikon w/towers....

I had three Swede Tikka's at one time...like a bonehead I sold two of 'em
