260Remguy Campfire 'Bwana Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 32,239 Likes: 1 OMAHA	I don't have one, but a friend had a Howa 1500 in 6.5x55 and it had a very deep throat, with 140 grain bullets having to take a lengthy jump to the rifling. This particular rifle had a very heavy laminated stock on it that combined with the deep throat and butt-heavy balance made is a "fail" for me.

RevMike Campfire Tracker R Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 4,852	I called Thompson Center last week and was told that the Venture is "in production" in 6.5 Swede. Hopefully we'll see then in fall or winter. The specs are in the new catalog on their website. "An archer sees how far he can be from a target and still hit it, a bowhunter sees how close he can get before he shoots." It is certainly easy to use that same line of thinking with firearms. -- Unknown
