Came home from an auction yesterday with an old 'Western' shotshell reloading press for next to nothing. Looks generally similar to MEC type presses. I'm completely unfamiliar with that make of press, does anyone know anything about them, where they were made, when, and by whom?

I know nothing about the Western, but I'm sure somebody will pipe in with the requested informatiom. OTOH, I bought an old 12 ga Pacific reloader close to 20 years ago. Pacific was bought (I believe) by Hornady years ago. I acquired it, as you said, for "next to nothing", with the original operator's manual and a bunch of wads, some shot and a bit of powder. Work's great, unfortunately we moved from upland game territory and don't make use of it as I would like. Good luck with yours . . . enjoy.

I am thinking it is probably a Deitemeyer, which was eventually bought by Pacific tool and is now Hornady. Check the link and you will probably find it: http://pacificreloaders.awardspace.com/Reloaders.htm

Good find! That Pacific DL-105 does kind of look like a MEC

I have a DL-105 and while it looks and acts similar to a MEC, it goes backwards to the MEC. It took me a while to get going with it. The great thing about the Pacific presses is that the bushings and wad guides from the current Hornady presses fit. So if anyone finds one, they can be gotten running quite easily.

Thanks for that link, Leon . . . Had to go up and check to see which model I have (that's how long it has been since I used it / approx 6 years) - it is a DL-155 BTW . . .
