I have about 100 ea Nosler , Sierra , Speer and Hornady stashed away and partial cans , Varget , IMR4064 , IMR4195 and Alliant power pro 2000 . Will have to get lucky and find promising load before I run out of powder cause probably wont be able to find any of the above local for awhile . Any one with favorites to share ?

With the Sierra and Hornady bullets, 43.5 of Varget and 41.5 of IMR4895 should put both loads in good shape for fine tuning. They should shoot well right off the bat.

The 4895 load with Sierra's 175gr MK was very accurate in my Savage.

+1 on the 41.5gr. IMR4895 load, shot it behind a Hornady 180 RN in my Winchester M/88 for years. It is an accurate load, killed my biggest deer 254# field dressed with that load.

I use 45 grains Varget with 180 ballistic tip WW Brass, CCI 200 primers. Work up carefully.

I loaded some 180 Nosler partitions with Power Pro 2000 MR, about a grain less than Alliant's max load. I got 2680 fps from a 24" barrel with good accuracy.

Managed a quick trip to the range and the Speer HC showed promise with the power pro 2000 . Good group and averaged a little over 2600 fps in 22" Marlin , with Federal brass and 210 primers . Thinking of trying the Hornady flat base next . Any one have the data for Hornady with Alliant power pro ? Alliant shows 48.5 with Federal brass and Speer bullet , thinking of starting at around 47.0 with the hornady and working up . Seems like i remember reading somewhere ball powder and flat base bullets for the 308 worked out best for 180 grns.
