I found several boxes of the older Winchester silvertips (110 gr- 220 gr)'06 for sale . I know these Silvertips have a reputation for being the only round capable of stopping Werewolves, but would the 110 be a decent load for 'yotes. Guy's asking $20 a box. MJ

Boxes of bullets or boxes of ammunition?

I've never seen or heard of 110 gr. WW Silvertips. They were made in 150 gr., 170 gr. (.30-30), 180 gr. and 220 gr. weights in the .308 size.

Sorry, guys, after I posted I realized I probably should have been more specific- factory loaded ammunition . The shop had 110', 150's,180's and a box of 220's. I expected the 220's to be RN but they were spitzer shaped . I'm thinking of getting the 110's -because like Eremicus I'd never seen them before. They are a very short bullet, and I wonder how well they will "meet" with the throat/rifling once chambered- I'd be running them out of an old FN/Higgins 30-06 Mauser action . The seller said he picked them up at an estate sale .

I'd buy every box for that price. But wouldn't shoot them. If the boxes are in good shape and there the older ones they have a pretty good collector price
