The one on the left is brewed by Heineken in Romania and is similar to bottled Heineken but not nearly as bitter. The other one is brewed in Montenegro and comes in a 500 ml bottle. Both are very good pilsner style beers. The best thing is the price, the Romanian beer is $3.99 for a six-pack and the Montenegran brew is only $.99 a bottle. My local bottle shop runs some amazing specials.

Wow. That's expensive, beer is pretty reasonable here and even cheaper in Indiana where we are originally from.

I read where they get 5 bucks a can for PBR in hipster bars in NYC. Apparently they think it is exotic.

Nut Brown Ale - made it myself.
Actually - doing the math, it comes out to .55 cents a bottle (ingredients alone - not counting hardware to brew/package)
6lbs Maris Otter syrup
Specialty grains (.25 lb English Chocolate, .25 Belgian Special B, .25 lb Belgian Biscuit, .25 Briess Special Roast)
1oz Fuggles at 60 minutes
Wyeast 1945 NeoBritania
Steep specialty grains for 20 mins in 2.5 gallons water. Bring to boil Add Maris Otter syrup Bring to boil Add Fuggles
60 minute boil
Chill, top off to 5 gallons with cold water and pitch yeast
OG 1.044 - bottle condition 2 weeks. Total time will be in the 4 week area.

It's a pretty tasty beer. I like it. Prob not enough to keep it around all the time but it's decent.
My tastes tend to run more towards stout/porter/APA/Belgian sours.

I need to get back into it someday. I was doing full grain brews and had a kegging system and then got of it about 15 years ago when we had our first kid. Life just became too hectic but I have more time now that they are getting older.

My favorites are Bavarian/Czech golden lagers, English cask bitter**, and American pales ales that are assertive but not over the top.
** Unfiltered, unpasteurized, unpressurized, and hand drawn into a real pint glass.

I read where they get 5 bucks a can for PBR in hipster bars in NYC. Apparently they think it is exotic. ill typically hate on no beer, but damn I can't stand PBR... And the recent resurgence of it in bars and restaurants is baffling to say the least. I fully understand the need to guzzle cheap beer from time to time, but ive seen people happily paying 4 to 5 bucks a pint for it???
She never made it past the bedroom door, what was she aiming for...? She's gone shootin..

Each major administrative region in the old Communist Yugoslavia had its own beer -- one a piece that is -- produced by a state monopoly. Serbia's beer was BIP -- in translation, Belgrade Industrial Product. The Commies had a real flare for marketing! It was cheap enough and the bottles were larger than our standard offerings.
