Been practicing and shooting our T/C Ventures in .300WinMag. Using the normal Winchester lead 180gr, shoots good. Zeroed at 200 and practiced out to 300 today. Then tried the Barnes Vortex 180gr w/TTSX and shot good groups, but consistently low and left. Last group at 300 yards was about 4" low and 2" left but was a 4 shot group about 3.5-4". Would you guys try more ammo or just adjust scope/rifle to the Barnes? I feel confident shooting at 300 yards, figured low/left 3-4" wasn't too bad....but not used to shooting distance at animals.

You can't expect two different loads to shoot to the same place. Adjust the scope to whatever you're going to use.

The Barnes are what I was shooting at the end since I was planning on hunting with those. Just curious about opinion s or experiences of the same. Didn't know if I should bother trying another ammo since the Barnes is shooting close and grouping decent or should I drop down to 165gr bullet to see if the groups come up a bit...

I think you're missing the point a bit. The Barnes shooting lower doesn't necessarily mean they're shooting slower.

It's perfectly normal for different loads to have different points of impact, even several inches apart. The important thing is to get them to group in a tight pattern then adjust the scope to match the one you plan to hunt with.

Yeah. It all has to do with barrel harmonics. Different bullets or powder cause different vibrations. Strange but true.

Was thinking of trying the 165gr just to see if they didn't drop as much as the 180gr but figured the groups were good so just moved scope and got them zeroed in and shooting good

Sounds like you understand a bit better now, but know that drop between the 165 and 180 is very minimal (less than an inch at 300) IF you were to zero your rifle for each load.
