If you're planning on copying that western series star (I forget which one) that had one that he would wave around in the air to reload, I've seen what modifications they had to do to the rifle to keep the shell from falling out and it was pretty extensive. Aim for the exit hole.

Remington/Marlin makes a 30-30 or a 45-70 with a large loop lever. http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/centerfire/336BL.asp You may be able to buy a Marlin 308MX which is chambered for the Hornady 308 Marlin Express cartridge and have a gunsmith fit it for the lever that is used on the 336BL.
