I go a box of the Hornady .308 150gr SP bullets. I hear people say they are pretty accurate. Pulled out the Hornady book and see they have the cannelure on their bullets. Matter of fact all of their hunting bullets have cannelure on them. What happens if you need to seat bullets shorter or longer than the cannelures on the bullets? I thought I read somewhere that cannelures can often degrade accuracy? Want to load my .308 and see how these shoot.

You can totally ignore the cannelure.

My 308 bugholes these bullets with both varget and RL 15. I shot them into dry phone books at 20 yards (2700 fps muzzle) and they went as deep as the 150 grain accubond. Those 150 gr hornady bullets are dandy slugs

with these, I seat them just off the lands with my savage, seat to mag length with my remington. like mathman says, ignore the cannelure. I've even got some loaded up for the .300 win mag for schits and giggles

the hornady 150 SP's are deer killas

They are a great bullet... like mathman said, just ignore the cannelure, load them like it is not there and enjoy.

I load them crimped in the groove for the 300 savage. Probably as close to a perfect deer bullet made. At reasonable velocity.

+1. That's what I do. The hornady sp 150 interlock is one of my favorites. One of my my friends uses it exclusively in his pre 64 fwt 308 win for big mulies and elk with great success.

It does double duty at my house. Works fine in the 30-06 and the 300 Savage.
