anyways I got a entry level job back in mid april working 21 days on and 21 days off making a little over 70k a year for basically 6 months of work
me and the wife are doing fine between her job, my new job and my military retirement pay we are getting bills paid off and have a good size checking account with extra disposable income I just got her a decked out 2013 dodge dart so of course im gonna get some firearms I got a new old stock 45 cal cva Kodiak pro mag fro0m 3rd generation shooters supply per advice from omega 45 awhile back thanks for the link back man!!!!!! decked it out with a sightron scope and got geared up for 45 cal shoots accurate hard hitting with 100 grains of blackhorn and barnes 195gr mz expander rounds the cci 209m primers are loose and I was getting a very slight gas blowback like a wisp of smoke after the shot the black horn web site showed pics of what to look for in primer condition so basically I need a snugger primer so im up to fort Campbell buying smokes for work cause I leave on wensday and decide to stop in at a gunshop outside of gate 6 called gun and knife country (should be called assclown gunshop expert tackleberry wannabe country looking back at what transpired)
im in their browsing around I notice all the employees are packing which aint nothing uncommon just that their mannersims and demeanor are like look at me im packing cant ya see my pistol oh wait you cant let me angle towardsyou with my hand on my upper hip so you can they are walking around like peacocks/tackleberrys you can tell someones demeanor when they are displaying for some is it just part of what they are wearing and natrual for these clowns it is a showoff status thing it seems like
any ways I see some fed209a primers for like 6 bucks a box im like cool im just gonna browse around and see what they got for long arm selection then pick some up
they got a real good inventory nothing im real interested in then I see a Winchester model 69a in 22lr for 199.00 im like fugg I had for years when I was growing up and sold it like a fool it was a 1 inch rifle at 50 yards all day long
hmmmmmmmm worth checking out and maybe buying it right now
I ask the owner to look at it he hands it too me dosent clear the bolt and chamber I open the bolt and check the chamber he looks at me like I insulted him (im looking at him with the thought in my mind you are douche bag for handing me a weapon and not clearing it )
anyways the gun is in decent shape bout 75 % blueing( which I could redo anyways) and the stock I can refinish of course and have a decent .22 to shoot got to be at least 50 yrs old then stopped making them in the early 60,s and started making them in the late 30,s
so I ask the owner/ tackelberry(cause I already had this in my mind about him) if I can dry fire it 2-3 times to check it and see if the sear and trigger spring are staying constant and if the safety will reset (basically what anyone would do to make sure the gun at least works) he starts in with a lecture about breaking rimfire firing bars and this that and the other like I don't know a darn thing about this gun or any other gun ever made
I say sir I owned 1 as a teenager growing up in maine and used to dry fire mine 100,s of times with no ill affect
he is like well I wont take that chance im like do you have any spent .22 hulls to take up this "stress" in the firing pin bar so I can dry fire it to see if it works
he is like no if you want to buy the gun then buy it and find out if it works then if it don't bring it back but we have a 10 dollar restock fee by this time im ready to walk when he said that
but im like ok what if I buy a box of .22 from ya and then go out to my truck and pull a round out of the 2-3 cases and dump the powder in them all and then you can step outside and let me test fire the gun with just the primer charge and see if the rifle functions as it ought too and I will let you hold onto my dl as proof of good intent
he says no I wont do that
I had enough by then
I said to him you know what im real tired of gunshop commandos like you thinking you know it all and the customer is always in the wrong and don't know squat
I wouldnt buy a box of 4th of july snap pops from a bunch of look at me im packing tackleberrys like you all in this shop congrats buddy you just lost a customer and geuss what im telling everyone I know what idiots you are in this place and believe me I know a lot of people in this town and a lot of people actually ask about guns and where to buy and geuss what you are on the assclown of gunshops list in Clarksville tn
he then says that's slander and you are banned from my gunshop
I just start laughing
im like what are you gonna do sue me for slander for saying you are bunch of assclowns and I wouldn't recommend your place too anyone he is real mad by then im heading out the door laughing people in the shop heard the entire conversation from start to finish concerning the gun as im in my truck getting ready to leave 3 people come out right after me 2 soldiers in uniform and 1 other guy
they are laughing their ass off
they walk over by me and 1 says hey man I cant believe what went on in their and you wasn't doing any thing wrong other than wanting to make sure that gun you was looking would actually work so I light a ciggette talking to these guys
im like ya the guy is an assclown for sure they laugh at that
then the owner comes out tells us all to leave the soldiers are like are you for fugging real?/ he says leave all of you one of the soldiers says to him hey that guy in the ford ranger knows a lot of people I bet just like he said and geuss what I know a lot of people on post also
you just [bleep] yourself big time with word of mouth advertising again the owner says slander this slander that again to all 4 of us
im laughing my ass off by then getting ready to leave I ask the owner hey man I hope you know my name for this big slander suit of yours laughing at him as I drive away
what a fugging joke it was

Rough day, I guess?
So you didn't get the gun you wanted? Maybe you can go back when he's off-duty and buy it from one of the clerks anyway.

LOL and some people wonder why these shops go out of business. $60 a K for primers no wonder he has a good and growing stock.

I always thought the newly assigned 2LT's with chemistry degrees were the toughest to deal with until they got settled in and fully understood the statistics we were dealing with.

you guys are harsh
I've actually heard about a gunshop in Clarksville that has a bad rep.
I wonder why there is no shortage of dickhead gunshop owners?
have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues, can you bend them guitar strings

Most around here are like that. I buy all of my guns at Whitetail Outfitters which is nothing like the typical gun shop but they don't really have a gunsmith. So I let them deal with the Tackleberry's if something needs fixed or changed.

There's no shortage of stupidity in gunshops...on either side of the display cabinets.
