I'm using 748 under 32 grainers. Darkker is using CFE under the same bullets. Both work very, very well in our Rugers!

My rifles prefer the 32s, so I use a stiff charge of H-322 or Benchmark to push them fast.
They'll "tolerate" either of the 4895s with 39 Sierras, but won't shoot the 40s worth a damn.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

39 gr Sierra Blitz King, CCI BR4, 25 gr of Reloader 10X, Remington or Winchester Cases, Loaded to 2.39" OAL. Shoots great in my Cooper single shot, or Remington 700/PacNor 3 groove 1 in 11 twist. Benchmark and IMR 8208 do well too but not as reliable as RL10X which runs 1/4" to 3/8" at 100 yds for 3 shots.

Bruce13: All six of my Varmint Rifles in caliber 204 Ruger shot the Berger 35 grain bullets a "skosh" better (accuracy wise) than any other bullet I have tried - so be sure to try these. These Bergers are also very lethal on all manner of Varmints from Ground Squirrels and Prairie Dogs on up through Badgers and Coyotes. Having said that I went through much difficulty trying to keep an adequate supply of the 35 grain Bergers on hand! So about two years ago I decided to go with the nearly as accurate and nearly as lethal Sierra 32 grain BlitzKings becuase they WERE easier to find. Seems no small caliber bullets are easy to find nowadays though. I also highly recommend you use the Federal 205M (match) primers in your 204 - again IF you can find them. Most of my 204's prefer H 4895 powder. By the way I am using three types of brass in my 204's (Remington, Hornady and Winchester) and have been happy with them all. Best of luck with your new 204 Ruger - it is an amazing performer in the field as well as at the range. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

In my 700 Rem. VLS I really like BLC(2). It's real accurate and gives good velocity. 30 gr. works good with 32, 39 and 40 gr. bullets. The most accurate load in my gun is 28.5 gr. BLC(2) with the 32. gr. Varmageddon. I've made three shot groups as small as .169 with that load. I had a splash on a badger with the 39 gr. Sierra and a buddy had a splash on a coyote so we pretty much just use them on ground squirrels and rockchucks. I'm really impressed with the 32 gr. Varmageddon, it puts badgers down hard with just a caliber size entrance and no exit.

Took the ruger M77 204 out today, Got it at 230, mounted the scope on it that the guy had taken off for shipping. Loaded 5 rds, 32 BK, 27.5 grs IMR 4895, 430, headed out just to shoot it. To my surprise theres a Groundhog. 210 yds Dead on hold, Bang, hes dead. End of story.

Don't you just love the way the bullet gets there so quick, almost an instantaneous "boom-splat" and you can watch the entire show thru your scope, not enough recoil to interrupt the view. Fun round... DF

Ill do some more walking, With 'walking' in mind, I'll bet the first thing you do, is schitcan the horrid, heavy, ungainly beavertail micro-lam (framing term) bench stock. That's the one move with the thing that I've never regretted. Mucho more svelte and sexy in a sporter....
