What's with this Royal Birth mania? Who cares? These are NOT the colonies over here anymore in case they don't remember it and I'm already sick of hearing about it! Big deal! He looks like all of the other Brits anyway: NO TEETH! I just hope the little bugger hasn't got his grandfather's ears! MERCY!

I could care less about royalty in general. They are just people, nothing special. Those who think there is anything special in their genes are delusional.
Still, a pretty and gracious young lady had a baby. Congratulations to her and her husband. Now, move on to important things like flaming the 270 as a wannabe 30-06.

Boring Royal bullshitt. People standing outside the hospital waiting for hrs with tears of happiness. I'd rather watch a dog lick his balls.
Only thing Royal I care about is Crown.

I'm with Steelhead on this. All life is good.

No. All life (zeros) isn't good.

Even though I am a staunch Royalist, I don't really get why these events seem to generate so much excitement. I would have been more excited had it been a little girl born on Sunday morning as I would have taken the sweep in work! Still, I am happy for the couple, and if many folks around the world find it a pleasant distraction and gives them a reason to be happy, I guess it does no harm.

Most here could not give a toss...womens magazines will probably go spastic for a bit, but no one else cares one whit.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

It always amazes me how many find it imperative to go onto forums like these and inform everyone that they care nothing about royalty, etc. If you cared nothing about it then why get on here and inform everyone, it's a lot like those that get on here and just have to inform everyone that they're leaving and not coming back. If you just want to leave then leave, no need to tell me or anyone else.
If you hate the royals then so be it, no need to inform everyone. Then Brits obviously like them since they keep them around, their opinion of the royal family is really all that matters. Yea, the whole concept is outdated and they're strictly ceremonial figureheads, but they're a huge tourism draw for Britain that pay for themselves many times over from tourist revenue. Getting past some of Charles' antics they generally are a credit to Britain, William and Kate in particular seem like a class act & I for one am happy for them that they had a healthy baby. Harry is a credit to his country with his military service, no skipping out on his duty for that one. He puts his money where his mouth is.
All in all they seem like good people and I don't get the hate that some feel the need to spout about them. If you despise them so much then just keep your mouth shut about it, no need preach about how much you despise them just for having the audacity to be breathing.
Not directed at you JSTUART, just the grumpy ones in general.

So everybody knows Kate gave birth to a boy but nobody knows we have a NEW KING in Belgium ? He's not very sexy, I admit, and the new queen is not going to be involved in any kind of scandal for sure No kidding, this could play a major role in the future of the still divided country one year before a major electoral issue and could therefore affect the whole europe in the end.

Crowhunter,
I don't consider the Monarchy out dated at all..Leaving their individual personalities aside, as an instituation, its always been conservative counter weight to the socialist/liberal tendencies of certain of our Governments and that I believe is an extremely important function..
Re Military Service, don't forget that William is in the RAF, and was a SAR Helicopter pilot operating in one of the most dangerous (from a flying perspective) areas of the UK..
His Uncle, Prince Andrew, saw active service as a helicopter pilot in the Falklands War, and most of the senior Royals, including Prince Charles and Prince Philip, have served in the Armed Forces in one form or other.
On the whole, I have far more time for the Royal Family than I do for our politicians..
Regards,
Peter

Perhaps there is one word that explains why some dislike the royals;

British royals have a long history of quality military service. It's long been expected that they will lead men and they've fulfilled it. As far as being genetically superior, no possible way. They bleed, die, and use the loo the same as everyone else.
