I know the 700 platform is the popular vote. Does anyone have experience in a customized Tikka?
What are some companies that keep barrels in stock if I was to go looking for a tikka or rem build?
Thanks

I ve had 2 done, a .260 built on a Tikka595 action, Shilen barrel, McM stock, Near Alphamount, and a 275 Rigby calibre built on a Tikka 695 action, Mcm McWoody stock, LW barrel, Near Alphamount. Both rifles had the bolts fluted, triggers worked on , polished and are just great for hunting rifles. Neither action needed anything more in the way of 'blueprinting' than a very light skim of the bolt lugs to achieve 95% contact, they feed impeccably, and shoot better than I can. Whats not to like? 275 Rigby /Tikka260 .260 / Tikka 595

Very nice Tikka260! Those would make any one a proud owner.

Someone on this site has several built off of a Tikka T3 action. Their handle here escapes me.

Not a lot needs to be done. I dropped my .270 into a BC stock, put some devcon on the stock for traction and added some cerakote. Its light, points well for me and hits everything I aim it at.

it was YukonAl I am thinking of. I believe he added a Remmy style lug to his during the rebarrel.
I am most likely going to have a Tikka rechambered within the next year, and it will be plopped into a McMillan. Nothing else needs to be done to those rifles.

Ive seen some pretty neat rifles built on the Tikka platform, this is my first crack at a "light" custom, a 22-250 HB Varmint, Sterk titanium bolt shroud, Delta Tactical handle and GRS stock, and it shoots itty bitty groups.

Good looking rifles. What scope rings are those? I'm wanting to get a metal shroud and bigger bolt handle as well.

Yukonal has some sweet Tikka builds. Here's just one of them. Several more done, in the safe. And just got 2 Mickies in the mail last week for 2 more. The next 2 should approach perfection...in my mind. (5 shots on the target)

Sako Classic (for a #3 Lilja), and another A3 (adjustable) for a #6 Kreiger-fluted.
