I tried the 55 gr HP Bergers out on a hog. About 50 yards but it broke the front shoulder, front side of the ribs and broke but didn't exit the other side of the rib cage. She went straight down.

I wouldn't use them other than for head shots.

Look around for some 64 grain WW power points. They'll usually shoot in a 1-14" twist and are more heavily constructed. They'd be my first choice.

Next up would be the 63 grain Sierra semi-spitzers.

If you had a 1-12 twist, I'd say Nosler Partition. I haven't gotten them to stabilize in a 1-14" twist yet.

I modified Tom's quote to fit my own findings. 63g Sierra is a hands down winner, proven for many, many years, atop a max load of IMR 4350 with win primers!

I would not waste powder with the 60g Nosler partition in a 14 twist, but I did have one rifle that would shoot them to 1 1/2" groups.

Many people are finding the 64g Winchester to be a very good performer on Hogs...which is a good test of a bullet.

64 grain powerpoint is a dandy slug. I think I'm up to 5 bears now with the 22 250 and the 64 pp. One deer with the 223 and 64 pp. All pass throughs. Ranges from 30 yards to 150 yards.
