Not a bonified fence post, but I think it will do. This is my 21" #4, Hart barreled Sako AIII in 358 Norma, McMillan Sako Hunter stock, Leopold VXIII 1.5�5�20. It has become my "Go-To" rifle around here. I get warm fuzzy feeling knowing there is a nice big hole in the end of the barrel when I walk down a bear trail. Plus not many magnums can hold four in the mag, and one on the go hole.

My .300 Weatherby on a fence post overlooking Boz Angles with a herd of 60-70 Elk under the forearm.

It's a Vanguard action and barrel that I put into a Richards AA Fancy Claro Walnut stock that I hand checkered with my favorite wrap-around multi-panel pattern. I's pillar and glass bedded with a floating barrel. I put a Edwards mechanical reducer in the stock and fitted it with a Limbsaver recoil pad. Its wearing a Leupold VXI 4-12 scope and Leupold rings and bases. I had a KDF muzzle brake installed on it and the felt recoil is about the same as my light 7/8 oz 12 gauge Skeet loads.

It shoots several different bullets sub-moa, and will put three 168 gr TTSX bullets into a ragged hole at 100 yds.

So far its 9 for 9 one shot kills on North American and African critters.

...off topic I know... but the fence is iron bark split posts and Waratah brand high tensile barbed wire.

Damn fine fence! Nice rifle too. I'm a locust post fella myself. Good longevity,but not as robust as what you have there. Love the Sako by the way. How do you like the Z3?

The 3-9 has great clarity & fov and its size seems just right. I have a VX3 2.5-8 on a Ruger as well, which is great too and did not cost as much!

Iron bark is the go-to timber for most of our fencing around here. Its getting harder to source.

I checked out Locust Wood on Google. I see its a close relative to an acacia down here called gidgee that is harder than iron bark (used out west for fence posts as well and burns exceedingly hot).

Wow, running barbed wire through drilled holes has got to be a pain...

We pull up the wire using a grab and chain attached to a quad-bike. Just got to stop at each post and thread the wire through.

Thanks guys. It is a Model 92.. It's a slick little rifle, but .25-20 so hard to find brass and other reloading components for I think I might try and trade it for a .44-40 or .38-40.

mtcurman - if you decide to sell, I might be interested. If not, you might check out these guys - I believe the .25-20 WCF is easy to form from .32-20 that you can get here. But I don't claim that for a fact, so double check if you are inclined.

mtcurman, I had a new Marlin 1894 in .25-20.. Foolishly sold to my pal.. We bought new brass from somewhere.. Maybe Midway.. When I barreled up my .25-35 brass was tough to find, I think I got it at Graft's.. That is one fun gun.. I have tried to buy mine back several times.. He always changes the subject.. Just a real fun caliber..Enjoy..

Was trying to figure out why that had an ebony tip on the forearm. Finally blew it up and saw it was just shadow.
