If any body has a 358 win in a BLR and loads for it I could use some info. I am going to try the 180 ttsx and have no idea what to use for powder. Thanks

Perhaps you shouldn't be reloading.

I use BL-c2 know with the 200 gr Hornady but I was wondering if any of the other powders I have might work? But there's always got to be an A**hole in the crowd.

You said you have NO idea what powder to use, I'm guessing now that you do have an idea. The below has for the non-TSX version, if it's safe with those it will work for the TSX/TTSX, as the non-TSX tends to be a little sticky. http://www.barnesbullets.com/copper_manual/358_Winchester.pdf

I use IMR-4198 with Hornady 200 gr's @ a chronographed 2450 fps.
Very accurate in my BLR.

BLC2 looks like the only possible one. Hodgdon site shows 52grs with a 180gr Barnes X for 2555. I'm running 200gr TSX at 2700 with TAC and have pushed the 180's to almost 2900 with TAC http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

Also, don't be skeered to look at 338 Federal load data. Lots of that abounds with 180gr bullets. The 358 will always be able to handle a little more powder than the 338.

IMR 3031 was a favorite for me in the 358. 4198 works well with the 180's.

I've run 53.5grs of that with the 180. Work up accordingly.

I've had good luck with the 200 gr Hornady and both IMR 4320 and 4064. I've got some TAC to try and have also messed around with Reloder 7. That's been in a Savage 99.

Several years ago I used BL-C2 with 180 grain X-bullet in my BLR. Reached 2700 fps without any problems except a lot of fouling.

Is TAC a ball powder? I'm using Norma 201 as per John's article several years back. Good velocity...haven't checked for accuracy yet. powdr

Maybe because I've never viewed the .358 as a long-range type round. I see it as a 250 yard (at best) round that hits hard and kills quickly. It is near "perfect" for deer/hogs and is very near perfect for larger game. A 250 grain bullet is ?right" while a 180 gain bullet is "right" for a .30 caliber rifle.
Use the .358 as it was intended.....not as is seen in modern language

The 180 Barnes are hard to find. I wouldn't use it that often it's just I need a project. I found the Tac just need some copper now. Steelhead have you tried varget with the 180's?
