"I should have picked alcohol, drugs or beating my wife..." No great admirer of Charlie Hustle, here, but great quote. Had to make it a tag.

Pete Rose is on my all time baseball team....he in fact is in the top 3 players I would select.

Mantle, Mays, Rose

A lot worse has been selected to the Hall.

To me the HOF is more than about the player, its about the game, the history. The fact is that Pete Rose has more hits than anyone else in the history of MLB, 4256 to be exact. For the sake of the game, I think Pete Rose should be in the HOF.

Rose once said that he never bet against his team because he truly believed every night they took the field they were going to win.

I have not pity whatsoever for anyone that willfully disregards well established rules/laws.

Some of our highest achievers seem to think they should be granted an exception and I've never understood why they feel that way.

He should be in the HOF. There was never any doubt that he gave his all while playing. He never used PED's. Gambling never affected how he played the game. So please explain to me why he is ineligible to be on the ballot yet PED users like Bonds and others have been on the ballot? As we all know, PED's affected and enhanced the overall stats for their users, especially for those that have appeared on the ballot.

At the same time we need to grant amnesty to all the illegals that break the rules (law). After all, they're great baseball fans, some of the greatest.

However you see him, Pete quite possibly chose to break the only rule that would except him from the Hall. Unfortunate, as the numbers are there.

A. Bartlett Giamatti may have banned him for life, but at least Pete's still got his good looks.

Pete Rose on his looks:

If you played 16 years and slid into base head first as much as I did you'd be ugly too.

Pete Rose? He never did anything worth a chit. Gambled his career away in spite of rules and regs that he knew about so if he's that dammm dumb he deserves to be where he is: In the HOF; Hall of F_-_ups!

That will be topped if and when B. Bonds is ever admitted.

What he got on the field, he got straight up. He left it all on the field. I hated him as a player because I was a Dodger fan as a kid but can now admire how he did it.
