On 8-7-13, took a Leupold 3X20 Big Bore scope to the local post office. 8-12-13, Leupold sent an e-mail saying the scope had arrived. 8-15-13 UPS delivered the scope back to me.
Eight days total to ship to Leupold, have the reticle changed to Post and Duplex and for the scope to be back. I'm impressed! Quick service all around from Utah to Oregon and back.
Cost was $64.10 (including shipping from Leupold) and an addition $8.50 on my end to mail to Leupold.

I had about the same experience with them. I sent 3 scopes in to have M1 turrets installed on both the windage and elevation. I had the scopes back in my hands in 11 days from the time I shipped them.

Leupold just cannot seem to get it wrong.
That never happens by accident.
Good on them!

I sent a1.5-5 VXIII for a new reticle. Turns out they couldn't do it after they looked at it for a week or so.
So the put a CDS dial with the correct drops for my specific hunting load and included a straight MOA turret as well; all above for FREE. I was shocked at their commitment to making me happy. That's why we buy their stuff though. No muss, no fuss and you know it's gonna work or get fixed fast.

Leupold and Vortex have great customer service. Standard work by Leupold is quick. The fact that they have a custom shop is a huge bonus. The Vortex warranty is hard to beat though.

Several years ago I thought I had a problem rifle. Seems the problem was the brand new Leupie 2.5-8. I mailed it out on a Thursday afternoon and put it back on the rifle the following Tuesday evening.

Same experience here; they emailed me for credit card info for an M1 install on a VX-3 6.6-20x40 the day after it arrived and it shipped the next day. Love the M1's(much easier to read for my eyes than standard target turrets) and am blown away by Leupold service!!

Yep, few years back I sent in an older Vari-X 3x9 with the AO. Turns out that it wasn't fixable as they no longer had the part required to fix it. A nice lady from Leupold called me about 4 or 5 days after I sent it in and informed me of this. Then she asked if it would be OK if they replaced it with a VX-II 4x12 with AO as that was the closest scope they had to the one I sent in. They replaced a $200 scope with a $400 scope. Yeah, I'll keep buying their stuff......

Yep that pretty well reflects my experience as well. Mine was a 3-9x40mm VX-II that was changed from duplex to LR-Plex so $70 + shipping one way.
I really appreciated how they sent acknowledgement of receipt of the scope and called w/ turnaround estimate that they exceeded... under promising, over delivering.
Awesome.

In the past year, I have noticed they offer the SLOWEST service.
It takes weeks instead of days to get a scope back now.
One scope took 6 weeks to get an M1 dial installed.
I just sent one to Leupold last week and they still have not checked it in.

Most of my service has been very quick with the exception of getting a CDS dial made took 3-4 months, every call was one reason or another of why it was taking so long. But that was one out of 7 times, so their average is still good.

CKW: Enjoy your retro-fitted Leupold! And thank you for supporting an American owned company and American workers! Keep up the good work, products and service - Leupold & Stevens Corporation. I shot through one of my many Leupold scopes this morning (variable power 3.5x10) on my "Elk" Rifle- compared to the foreign made scope on a friends Rifle that he asked me to sight-in for him that 20 year old Leupold was heads and shoulders above the foreign jobby! To be fair a Leupold 3.5x10 with A/O would now cost almost twice as much as the scope I was comparing it to. But on Big Game Rifle I only use the most reliable of scopes. Leupold!
