Opinions on the Remington R25, specifically in .243? I know less than zero about AR rifles and am looking to try one. thanks

Cruiser, my dad has a R25 in 243. Very accurate rifle. Functions flawlessly. He says it's too heavy, I say no heavier than many other AR-10 style rigs.
Overall, I like it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the input, guy wants a $1000. You can but some pretty sporty bolts for that money?

Depends on what kind of varmints you hunt. If they don't fight back I would like to try a 17 rimfire magnum. whelennut
I like to do my hunting BEFORE I pull the trigger! There is only one kind of dead, but there are many different kinds of wounded.

I had A R25 in .243 out here & sold it, way to heavy w/scope/10round mag, sling, bipod. Got a bolt gun & halved the weight. It was darn accurate. $1K is a good price though!
Did I make you cry......boooo hooo, life goes on.

I had one in .243 and I second what 5spd said. They are too heavy and cumbersome. It did shoot pretty good, best group was .5". I did have issues with factory Remington 90 grain HP not ejecting. That was the only problem, no issues with reloads.
