A friend gave me one to see if I could locate everything else needed to make a completed rifle. I've got the complete assembled receiver only(1969 but looks like new). Told him he'd probably have more in it than what it would be worth if I could locate the parts. Don't reckon there's a one stop shop where I could get everything a once?

.

The stock(s), barrel, magazine & parts & sights would easily cost more @ a one-stop-shop than what an entire used rifle would cost .

IMO, it's economically doable only if you're good at scrounging around for very inexpensive used parts.

Watch this guy's auctions on GB, he usually has lever gun parts kits that have no receiver, but about everything else. Looks like police dept de-mils of seized firearms.

I've bought a couple of 94 parts piles, and had good luck with them. But, agreed with the comment above, it's most likely to be a very expensive common rifle.

You could try Numrich or look through the classifieds at marlin owners.

Most likely you're gonna bust your wallet trying to do it. Complete rifles are cheap compared to buying them piece by piece. Best advice I can give is to look for a real junker that you can pick up cheap with usable parts. Another unlikely avenue would be to see if you can find a police auction after a "gun buy back" after they've torched the receiver and are looking to sell the rest of the parts. Such stuff shows up from time to time. Used to be a (gasp) eBay seller selling such stuff from time to time. He was always up front about it stating that it was a "gun buy back" parts sale.

I APPRECIATE the help but it's probably not going to happen. May be putting the receiver up for sale.

Consider a new marlin at Walmart is about $429 and used prices have went down over the last few months, divide the parts and I'd say about $20

Earl - you'd probably get $50 to $100 out of it, depending on how hard somebody was looking for one, and the condition of the finish.

I watch for the Model 94 receivers, they run in that range pretty regular. But, it's like anything else, there's three one week, then none for a month.

Thanks for the info, all. My friend who the action belongs to lost his battle with cancer Monday. He did a good bit of wheeling and dealing with TC's and accessories on the classifieds. I'll post the receiver the later today. Figure I'll start at $85 shipped.

Got it somewhere around home. Away from there right now but I'll contact you after the middle of next week.

Haven't forgotten about those interested. Found it finally. Somehow it got to my son-in-law's in Va. Hopefully heading that way within the next few days.
