This is a bunch of crap with the football games and Dish. I flick to ESPN 2 for Miss. St. vs Okla. St. and get nothing. Blacked out in my area...Illinois.
Called Dish and raised hell..they say it's not them doing it and not their fault. I ask them how much the game would cost me to buy it and told them to give me that amount for a refund off my monthly payment. I had planned to watch that game and paid for programing to see it. They said will do.

It's not their fault, it's Federal Law.
If the stadium was built with tax payer money, and the game is not sold out, it's a violation of federal law to broadcast the game for the local market.
If you are unhappy, call your senator and ask them to support the La Carte cable bill. In addition to allowing people only support the cable stations they choose, it also calls for and end to these blackouts.

I'm not in the black out area for Miss or Okla. I'm about 10miles from W. Ky. in S. Il.
I'm sure I shouldn't legally get a $20.00 deduct on my bill because I did get one of the two options on local tv..not the one I wanted though, , but the two Indians I talked to agreed with me and Disk has screwed me out of money before anyway. Although I do pay for ESPN 2 and got zilch on it.

WTF are you talking about 7th Paragraph of the article: "McCain�s bill also supports the nixing of the sports blackout rule for NFL teams whose home stadiums are funded with tax payer dollars. The current rule disallows local TV stations from broadcasting the game if the event is not sold out."

My knowledge of College ball is fairly limited, but I do know that CU over paid for their coach, and we will be lucky to win 4 games this year, and will loose about $3 million for the school. As for the Blackouts, they are pure BS across the board, and we need to fix this at the congressional level. Considering the millions of Football fans in this country, I'm surprised there isn't enough collective outrage to achieve a political solution.
